Hello my beautiful friends. Today I am back with some swatches for you of the beautiful Aliquid Lacquer Nail Polish Is For The Birds. I have never had a chance to try Aliquid Lacquer, so I was super happy when Alison contacted me about this review. I already knew from other bloggers that these polishes were amazing, so my excitement levels were even higher.
Aliquid Lacquer Nail Polish Is For The Birds collection consists of six nail polishes inspired by the birds from around the USA. Let’s take a look!
Aliquid Lacquer Oriole is a bright orange jelly with gold shimmer and flakies. Such a stunning color and the golden flakies add some dimension, as well as a tropical look to it. The formula was very nice and I applied three very thin coats.
The Baltimore oriole is the state bird of Maryland. They live alone and are (mostly) monogamous. Male orioles attract females by “bowing” to them and fanning out their tail feathers.
Aliquid Lacquer Ruby-Throated Hummingbird is a white crelly with red and green ultrachrome and metallic flakies, as well as gold shimmer. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this nail polish, but once I applied it on the nails and all the beautiful flakies started to pop out, I was officially in LOVE!!! I applied two coats plus top coat.
Ruby-throated hummingbirds live in the eastern US in summer and migrate to Central America in winter (some of them flying 500 miles nonstop over water!). Their wings can beat 80 times per second, and they can hover much like insects do. A hummingbird’s muscles use ten times more oxygen than a human athlete’s!
Aliquid Lacquer Mourning Dove is a pale taupe crelly with bronze and grey flecks. Another stunning color and unexpected finish. The flakies are very subtle, which makes this nail polish very soft and classy. Three coats plus top coat here.
Mourning doves are found throughout the US year-round and are named for their sad-sounding call. They are monogamous, and both parents take care of their young. Mourning doves can fly at speeds of up to 55 miles per hour!
Aliquid Lacquer Northern Flicker is a sky blue crelly with white, grey, navy, yellow and red matte glitter. I am usually not into such finishes, but the color combination of the glitters looks adorable! The formula was also very easy to apply and I ended up with three thin coats plus top coat.
Northern flickers (also called yellowhammers) are a type of woodpecker, and the state bird of Alabama. Males and females take turns drilling their nest into a tree. Flickers drum on trees and metal objects to tell others to stay away from their territory.
Aliquid Lacquer Tree Swallow is holographic base with light blue holo glitter and silver flakies. This one can be applied over a base color or wear on its own and both look beautiful. I chose to show it off on its own and it looks stunning! Three thin coats here.
Tree swallows can be found across the US and Canada in the summer (you might be dive-bombed by one if you get too close to its nest). They travel in flocks of as many as a million birds!
Aliquid Lacquer Starling is a dark green jelly with blue shimmer, holo microglitter, and ultrachrome flakies. I don’t think that the pictures show off the real beauty of this one. In real life, the color is much more deep and full of dimension!!! Absolutely loving this color and finish. Three coats plus top coat.
Starlings are newcomers to North America; 60 starlings were brought to Central Park in 1890, and they’ve now multiplied to over 150 million (I’ve seen them all over Boston this spring). They can mimic the calls of other birds and even man-made sounds.
What do you guys think of the Aliquid Lacquer Nail Polish Is For The Birds collection? Did you spot any favorites from these six beautiful and unique nail polishes? I think Ruby-Throated Hummingbird and Oriole are my top favorites!
I am very impressed by this Aliquid Lacquer. First of all, I think Alison did an amazing job capturing the essence of each bird and creating a nail polish that was a great representation of it. The formulas were amazing and very easy and pleasant to work it. I also loved the brush, because it was quite small.
