Hello lovelies. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Today I would like to show you a couple of products from Bella Vi Cosmetics. Bella Vi offers natural and organic skincare and makeup products in their range. They are located in New Zeland, but their products are made in Italy. I have received three products from them to test and review.
In my opinion, skincare and foundations are difficult to review. There are so many different types of skin types with very different needs. When reading this review, please remember that what doesn’t work for me might be quite the opposite for you.
Let me start by telling you a little bit about my skin type, so you know where I come from. My skin is definitely a combination of oily on the T-zone and normal to dry on my cheeks. In the summer is definitely more oily comparing to winter time, but I usually do get extra sebum on my face no matter the season. I can easily control that aspect by using a proper skincare and overall, I cannot really complain about my skin.
I also want to mention that I have used natural products in the past and unfortunately they did not serve me well. My skin did not feel 100% satisfied, so I had to drop all the natural products for my face (my body doesn’t really care). When Bella Vi approached me about this review, I decided to give natural cosmetics one more go. From the three products that I received, one is my favorite, still undecided on the second one and the third one did not work for me.
Let’s start with the favorite, which is Bella Vi Primer Moisturizer SPF15 (Active). My first impressions after using this moisturizer were very positive. The consistency is very light, but hydrating. My skin felt smooth and soothed. It is perfect for using underneath your foundation (and my cream foundation was ‘sticking’ to it nicely. Because the product is so light, the hydration was not entirely enough for me. However, I found that applying a serum or light cream before this primer was working great for me. I would recommend this product for people with oily to normal skin. For dry people, this will not be enough! Really nice bonus, it has SPF 15!
Bella Vi Loose Mineral Foundation (Natural Beige) is the product that I am still undecided about. The very first time, I applied this product over the Primer Moisturizer, like suggested in this video. My skin looked and felt amazing in the first hour after applying this makeup. I applied the loose foundation with my normal (clean) foundation brush and I liked the natural finish it gave my face. After about an hour, my skin started to feel very tight, as if all the moisture disappear. When the sebum on my face started to appear, the foundation started looking very cakey and not as natural as before. You could tell that I was wearing a lot of makeup.
After that I tried this foundation with other primers and moisturizers and with some it worked better than with others. I also noticed that this foundation does not set and it moves around my face during the day. I am not used to this in my foundation and it didn’t feel very comfortable. I will try this product a few more times with different products and conditions (thinking maybe it will perform better in the winter?).
Some tips that I picked up after using this mineral foundation: make sure to have your sebum under control, use a good moisturizer before applying the foundation, do not apply too much product, would work best for dry skin in my opinion.
Bella Vi Active Hydrating Moisturizer was the third product sent to me for testing. The consistency of this cream was definitely heavier and richer comparing to the moisturizer. It also doesn’t have SPF, so I was using it mostly at night.
I was very excited about this product, because after the summer my skin felt like it needed some extra care. I am sad to say that this product did not work for me at all! Like with all the other natural skin care products, it was very irritating. I believe there is an ingredient in there that my face does not like. My skin felt overheated, not soothed and I felt like I had to wash it off immediately. Even with all these signs telling me this product was not for me, I still tried it three times for the purpose of this review. The last time it also irritated my eyes and they were watering like crazy. Maybe my mom can have a better use of this moisturizer.
I am wondering whether you guys like natural skincare and what products work for you? Leave your thoughts in the comments below, I would love to read your experience.
I am a little bit sad that 2 out of 3 products from Bella Vi did not work for me. Especially because their products are quite pricey. All three items retail for $59.50 each. I guess different products work for everyone differently. I am more than sure these would work great for most people, but I am very picky when it comes to skincare and foundation makeup.
The products in this post were provided for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
