Black & Gold Negative Space Nails

Hi everyone. The post of this mani was supposed to go up ages ago, but I kept putting it off. It’s just been such a crappy weather lately and I felt like staying under my blanket all day. On top of that we had a lot of snow today and that didn’t help with being productive. Anyway, I made these awesome negative space nails a few days ago and today it’s finally the time to show them off.

Black & Gold Negative Space Nails

Before starting the whole mani, I applied a ridge filling base to smooth the surface of my nails and protect them from staining (you know we are using a black nail polish here). To create the negative space stripes, I used different size nail vinyls. The black nail polish I used is my favorite LVX Livid. Such a good black polish. The formula is very creamy and pigmented, so you only need one layer! On my accent nail you can see the beautiful Il √Čtait Un Vernis Live Love Laugh. The mixture of micro glitter and beautiful copper pieces makes this nail polish really unique.

The beautiful triangular studs are from the Born Pretty Store and you can find this product HERE. The size of these studs is 3mm and the package comes with 15 pieces. The product costs $2.62. I applied them using a clear nail polish or you can also sink them in your top coat before it dries.

Black & Gold Negative Space Nails

What do you think of these black & gold negative space nails? It’s such a simple look, but the addition of the glitter and the studs give a little bit of edge, which I love! Let me know what you think in the comments below and have an awesome weekend.

The products in this post were provided for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

    So elegant….yet funky!

  • These are simply perfect! I’m so determined to explore more negative space manis! My next post will have something of sorts, I just hope it looks as good published as it did in my head when I created it!

    • Oh you should definitely try some negative space nail art. Once you start you won’t be able to stop.

      • That’s what I’m most afraid of! ;-)

      • here-here – one of my first attempts, also involving black stripes (of some sorts lol)
I would greatly appreciate any advice or feedback! Thank you! (And you’re totally right! Negative space is sooo addictive!)
