Hi everyone. Today I have made two feather nails design for you. I have made both peacock and dreamcatcher nails before, but I wanted to join a contest on Instagram and I thought it would be fun to make them again (especially because I loved making both designs in the past). Enough of this rambling and let’s get started.
So, first in line are peacock nails. You can find my first peacock nails HERE. The ones that I made today are a little bit similar. A lot of you guys liked the previous design so much, so that’s why I made something similar.
The base for these feather nails is W7 Linen. I like using this base so much. Every color looks great on it without having too much contrast (like you would have with a white base). I put this very delicate glitter over my cream base, which is NYX Alps Bunny. I am very tempted to make small Christmas shopping and get a lovely China Glaze Fairy Dust, because nothing is going to beat the beauty of it. The glitter polish that you see on my index finger and pinky is Maybelline Color Show Beaming Blue (from the Brocades Collection). It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous blue with a slight golden shimmer! I am absolutely in love with it. It could be perfect for mermaid nails, which I have never made before. Maybe I should do it!
The peacock feathers are made with a big mix of polishes. I started off with NYC Empire Purple to make the outline of the feather. Then I put a few strokes of China Glaze Deviantly Daring and Catrice Heavy Metallilac. The outer green circle is made with Catrice King of Greens, then I filled it in with China Glaze Highlight of My Summer. Then I made a small circle with Born Pretty Store fluorescent blue and the smallest one is dark OPI Blue It out of Proportion. Whew! That was a lot of polishes. I hope you are still with me :)
That’s it for my peacock nails. What do you think? :)
The base for this mani is Yes Love K020. I am seriously obsessed with this pink. It’s a lovely light base. The feathers are made with four nail polishes from China Glaze Sunsational Collection: Sun of a Peach (orange), Neon & On & On (pink), That’s Shore Bright (purple) and Too Yacht To Handle (blue). I love these polishes and I am even thinking of buying a backup haha! The glittery parts are made with L’Oreal Platinum Chic and the black dreamcatcher is made with my acrylic paint.
I tried to make a small gradient on my feathers, but I think it’s a bit difficult to do with such creme polishes. I have to try using jelly polishes for the gradient. Maybe it will be easier.
So that’s it for my feather nails. Wish me luck on the nail art contest and if you would like to join, search for @chelsgc on Instagram and you can find all the information there.
Have a lovely evening everyone :*
