Floral Nail Art for My Birthday!
Hi everyone! It’s my birthday today and I had a hard time coming up with my birthday mani… I was thinking from balloons to cupcakes, but nothing really was suiting me. Then I thought, why not make something that I really like, because what is a birthday without things that we enjoy in life most? I decided to make some floral nail art with a good splash of colors!
It’s not hard to guess that I love making floral nail art, and if I can do it using all the shades of the rainbow, it’s even better! I had this idea of making flowers over a dark base for a while and today seemed a perfect day for it. The dark blue polish is China Glaze Queen B (from their Autumn Nights collection). The polish is really gorgeous! I actually only had to put one layer, because it’s this opaque.
Then I set for the flowers. I wanted to use really bright colors to make them stand out from a navy blue base color. What is better for bright colors than China Glaze Sunsational? I think it’s my favorite collection and I reach for these polishes a lot! I used China Glaze Sun of a Peach and OPI Formidably Orange for the orange flowers, China Glaze Neon & On & On and OPI Strawberry Margarita for the pink ones. The purple ones are made with China Glaze That’s Shore Bright and W7 Purple. The leaves are made with a lovely bright green, which is China Glaze Highlight of My Summer. See? told you it was all Sunsational!
The idea to make a heart shape came to me, when I saw THIS photo on Pinterest yesterday. I modified the flowers a little bit and made them more colorful, but it’s the case that inspired me. Then I also remember that Celine Does Nails made an anchor shape of her flowers, so maybe the inspiration comes from there too :) All I did, was outlined a heart shape and filled the outside part with a white nail polish.
I gotta say, I am very proud of this floral nail art and I am not keen on taking these off! :) I hope you like them as much as I do. Let me know what you think in the comments below :)
Overall, I had a great birthday! My boyfriend and I made some yummy sushi for dinner and it was so much fun. It was the first time I made sushi myself and I didn’t expect it to be so easy! And then David made me a delicious fruit hedgehog for dessert from pear and grapes :) Yay for being 26!
Hope you have a lovely day! Paulina
