Hello my beautiful friends. It is time for another twin mani. This time I collaborated with my talented friend Mina from Cubbiful. We have done a mani swap before, so this time we went for bestie twin nails. Mina just happened to have a few inspirational pictures saved, so she sent me a few samples and we decided to recreate one of them. We went for this cute bird nails and I’m so glad we did, because I had so much fun recreating this mani and it also pushed my boundaries further.. This inspirational picture has so many details and I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to recreate it, so I decided to give it a little bit of simplicity. So are you ready to see our recreation?
I just love how both of us took a different approach to the bird nails :) Mina, as always, was super detailed and even made the lovely background. I think it has to be my favorite part ( I know it’s silly), but it gives this mani a super dimension! And look at her lovely flowers! And the bird, that looks like a bird lady with cute flushed cheeks! I love it :)
Now at this point of the blog post I usually write what polishes I used, but with this mani, there are just too many to list, so I am not going to bore you :) Maybe I will just mention that for the background color I chose Catrice Meet Me At Coral Island. It’s a gorgeous pink, coral color! I found it in my stash and after making this cute bird nails, I think I don’t use this color enough! So gorgeous and it looks good with my skin tone.
I made the baby bird with Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet and the rest is just a mix of polishes. I used my tiny nail art brush to make all the details. I had to be very precise with the shapes and lines. Look how small the birds’ legs are? :) He is a little fat birdy with little short legs hahaha!
It was a little difficult to recreate the whole design, so I just looked at parts of the picture and picked the most beautiful flowers to paint on my nails. I think Mina thought alike, because we even painted the same flowers haha ;) You know, great minds think alike!
And I just love the dots and triangle pattern on my index and middle finger. I had a hard time painting the two white lines, because the nail polish was drying too fast. I could have done it with acrylic paints, but lately I find it easier to paint with nail polish. I don’t know what it is… maybe my acrylics got old and are not so opaque and easy to work with? I have to find some different acrylics :) And of course, at the end, there was a cat hair stuck on my middle finger and the lines got a bit smudged! Ah, cats! Does it ever happen to you?
What do you guys think of our cute, little bird nails? I hope you like both of the design, because, let me tell you girls, we worked very hard on them ;) Don’t forget to check out Mina’s blog Cubbiful and read her twin mani post :)
Until the next time lovelies! Paulina :*
